MNT Reliability Workshop 2008
The CANEUS organization recently established an international "MNT Reliability" Working Group in partnership with the French Space Agency - CNES (Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales), CCT-MCE (Centres de Compétence Technique - Microsystèmes et Composants Electroniques) to host the international "MNT Reliability for Aerospace" Workshop in Toulouse, France, from May 29-30, 2008.
The CANEUS “MNT Reliability” Working Group is an international forum promoting the advancement of a broad range of issues related to reliability of Micro and Nano-devices and systems for use by the global aerospace industry; technical solutions to deal with MEMS Design for Reliability, Virtual Prototyping, Technology Analysis, Failure Analysis, Test, Qualification, and System versus Component reliability trades. It will also undertake a review of applicable reliability standards in terms of Space Applications and General strategy for space qualification of MNT. Membership in the working group includes all the primary industry stakeholders, including new technology developers, system integrators, and aerospace end-users.
The CANEUS “MNT Reliability” Working Group is the steward of the aerospace industry’s strategic and technology roadmap for reliability technologies. The CANEUS “MNT Reliability” Working Group has established a collaborative environment wherein resources from member organizations are pooled to focus on high-risk, high-cost initiatives aimed at accelerating the infusion of emerging wireless technologies into aerospace applications.
The Working Group also acts as the broker for licensing intellectual property jointly developed by its collaborative consortia. System integration efforts focus on the development of the appropriate supply chain organizations.
To conclude, the CANEUS “MNT Reliability” Working Group is chartered with creating and sustaining the entire MNT reliability requirements for aerospace applications. Beginning with a strong participation by MNT developers and worldwide industry stakeholders, the Working Group will establish a robust supply chain to sustain the entire technology development pipeline.
